Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

About the Program

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Service is a physician directed, interdisciplinary team treatment process designed to increase independence and improve quality of life for persons with disabilities.

Occupational Therapy

Provides goal-directed treatment utilizing a variety of techniques and activities to improve functional daily skills, upper extremity range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, balance, endurance, and visual-perceptual skills.

Physical Therapy

Provides services to Veterans who have experienced changes in physical function and health by developing an individualized treatment plan which may include prescribing exercise and activities to improve movement, facilitate independence, and regain quality of life.

Recreation Therapy

Utilizes leisure education, therapy, recreation participation, and complementary medicine to improve physical function; enhance well-being; increase or maintain independence; develop healthy coping techniques; enhance or maintain social involvement; and manage pain and stress.
