June 23, 2017
06/21/2017 (Erie, PA) – Erie VA Medical Center Director John Gennaro, 39, was named a Rising Star in Healthcare as Becker’s Hospital Review released the 2017 edition of its list of top healthcare leaders under the age of 40.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team accepted nominations and conducted an internal review process to select members of this year's list. This list includes physicians, hospital and health system executives and healthcare company innovators that have gone above and beyond to achieve greatness in the healthcare field at a young age. “It’s truly a privilege to be included among this group of innovative healthcare leaders and to be recognized nationally for the work we’re doing here in Erie,” says Gennaro. “My vision since coming on board a year ago is to position Erie VAMC as Veterans #1 provider of choice as well as being a best place to work for our employees. With the excellent team we have in place in Erie, along with the incredible support from our community partners, I’d say we’re well underway to making this vision our reality.”
During Gennaro’s 16-year career in the VA, this is the fourth time he has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as an emerging leader in healthcare. He was named among the 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40 in 2015, a Rising Star in 2014, and was recognized as a Modern Healthcare Up and Comer in 2013.
