Erie VA to Host National Salute to Veterans
VA invites the community to give back to local Veterans
Erie VA Medical Center once again invites the community to get involved in the annual National Salute to Veterans Week coming up February 9-15. Schedule a visit with patients and spread some Valentine's Day cheer to local Veterans.
"The National Salute to Veterans Week gives everyone a chance to let those who have given so much to our nation know that they are not forgotten," says Voluntary Service Chief Karen O'Neal. "We want people of all ages and walks of life to bring Valentine's Day cheer to our patients."
During the weeklong National Salute, Erie VA invites local celebrities, sports stars, Veterans groups, military personnel, civic organizations, businesses, youth groups, schools, and local media personalities to schedule a visit to thank local American heroes.
This event also gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about the important roles volunteers play at the Medical Center. Last year, Erie VA had more than 630 volunteers who gave 79,654 hours of service to local Veterans at the medical center.
To schedule a visit during our National Salute to Veterans, call the Voluntary Service Office at 814-860-2453 or 814-860-2454 today.
