October 3 – Erie VA Medical Center invites the community to join together to support local Veterans at the annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Saturday, November 12.

The Veterans Day Parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on the corner of 26th Street and State Street and will march south on State Street ending at the Erie VA Medical Center.  Individuals or organizations interested in participating in the parade can contact Ken Sawdey at 814-866-9565.  We also invite community members to line the streets cheering on local Veterans in the parade.

Following the parade is the Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. in the drill hall of the Naval Reserve Center located directly behind the Erie VA Medical Center.  This year's keynote speaker, Lt Col Ron Swift, Professor of Military Science at Edinboro University, will share his experiences of serving in the military and address the crowd on the high honor of being called Veteran.  Also during the ceremony, winners from the 4th annual Veterans Day Essay Contest will read their essays aloud and address what freedom means to them.  Veterans, their families, friends, and community members are also invited to the ceremony.
For questions about the Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, please contact the Voluntary Service Office at 814-860-2454 or 2453.

*Members of the media are also invited to the parade and ceremony.  Please call Sarah Gudgeon at 814-860-2097 if you would like to schedule an interview with the keynote speaker.
