Remembering those who were prisoners of war and missing in action
What: Erie VA Medical Center hosts the annual Prisoners of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Remembrance Ceremony to honor our nation’s most revered heroes, those who served under the worst of conditions, sacrificing their freedom so that our country may know true liberty. Each year during the ceremony, local former POWs are given time to share their stories and experiences of captivity. This year will include the special missing man table in recognition of those who have not returned.
When: Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10 a.m.
Where: Erie VA Medical Center - Second Floor Conference Rooms
Who: Erie VA invites former prisoners of war, their families, friends, and members of the community to attend the POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony.
*Members of the media are invited to attend. Behavioral Health Specialists and a former POW will be available on site for interviews. Out of respect for those attending the ceremony we ask that interviews be conducted before or after the ceremony. Media members will be allowed to take b-roll during the ceremony.
