My HealtheVet - Manage Your Health Online
More than 1,400 Veteran patients at Erie VA Medical Center are managing their health online through the expanding My HealtheVet program.
Not only can Veterans refill prescriptions and view upcoming appointments, patients can now send secure messages to their health care team, helping Veterans become active participants in their health.
"I order all my meds online and any questions I have I just use secure messaging," says Rick Sullivan, Veteran and My HealtheVet user. "It simplifies things tremendously for me. Secure messaging takes all the work out of it and makes it simple to get my questions answered."
Since the My HealtheVet program started in 2003, its features have grown to allow Veterans more options to manage their care. Patients using My HealtheVet can:
• New! Send secure messages to health care teams*,
• Refill prescriptions,
• New! View appointments*,
• View wellness reminders*,
• Access online medical libraries,
• Self-enter military and health history and more!
*Must be In-Person Authenticated to use this feature
Patients can register today by visiting www.myhealth.va.gov and creating their account. Once registered, patients need to sign a one-page In-Person Authentication form at their local clinic or the Release of Information office at the Erie facility and present a valid photo ID to staff. This In-Person Authentication step ensures online security.
