Recent Traffic Flow Changes/Office Moves
Canteen Store Renovation: Starting on Friday, September 21, the Canteen Store is temporarily relocating to the 1st floor in the old cardiac lab as shown in the map below. Renovations for the Canteen Store are expected to be completed by the end of October.
Canteen/Cafeteria Renovation: Erie VAMC's Canteen/Cafeteria is currently closed for renovations to transform the dated cafeteria into a modern, welcoming eatery. During this nine-month renovation project, the canteen will set up a Grab & Go Cafe at the Starbucks located on the 1st floor. The Starbucks Grab & Go Cafe will be open Mon-Fri from 7am-3pm and will feature a variety of hot and cold menu items for breakfast and lunch. Additional seating will be located in the atrium on the 1st floor. The new Canteen/Cafeteria is expected to open in Fall of 2018.
V-Tel Sleep Study Office MOVED: In February, the V-Tel Sleep Study Room will be relocated to the 2nd floor of the Erie VAMC in room 2n212 located directly across the hall from Conference Room #2 or easier access for patients.
New 1st Floor Foot Traffic Flow: Starting Tuesday, January 16, there will be a pilot program to reroute foot traffic around the Primary Care White Clinic so patients in that clinic can receive a personal & confidential experience as intended. As you will notice, the doors to the White Clinic will be partially closed. Volunteers will be on-site to direct traffic and help you find where you need to go. Simply follow the green line on this image below to help direct you to the right location.
Erie VAMC is in the midst of a $30 million construction and renovation plan which will take shape over the next couple years.
New Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Program: Construction for this new eight-bed residential treatment program is currently underway on the 6th floor of the Erie VAMC. This new program will offer a comprehensive residential treatment program for severe mental health and substance abuse related illnesses. Expected to be completed in Summer 2018.
Community Living Center: Construction is now underway for our new stand-alone Community Living Center (CLC). This new state of the art CLC project will be completed in two-phases. The first phase of the project will construct a 22-bed stand-alone facility that includes all private rooms and bathrooms, community living rooms for family and visitors, and a kitchen for a more home-like feel. The second phase will add a similar stand-alone building with additional beds over the next several years.
Traffic Flow Improvement Project: This project creates a new drive way entrance off 38th Street and includes a new traffic light and left turn lane to increase traffic safety for all Veterans, visitors, and neighbors.
Emergency Power Generation Project: The construction and renovation plan also includes the creation of an emergency power generator.
